While I was researching packs for a 100km endurance hiking challenge, my interest in how we organise our gear gave birth to Pack Config, a place that inspires its readers to improve their own packs. What I carry, either daily or out on a hike, is constantly being refined as I discover new methods and products.
The unpredictable UK weather provides a constant challenge for my packing decisions. I enjoy every form of walking from woodland discovering with my wife and son, to long distance hiking across the local Downs. I had the privilege of deploying with Team Rubicon UK at the end of 2015 as a photographer/mud-shoveller and was humbled and impacted by the calibre and attitude of the whole team. I also take every opportunity I get to pursue my bushcraft techniques.

Loadout: December EDC
My everyday carry doesn’t change as often as the weather, though sometimes it accommodates it. These are some of my favourite everyday pieces, most of which has stood the test of many years of use.
Review: Adventure Duffle Pack
I’m not a duffle person. There I said it. But this one has a bit of a twist, so grab a brew and let me unpack how the Colfax Design Works ADP_39 won me over.
Loadout: CDW Adventure Duffle Pack
I’ve been using the Adventure Duffle for a while now and decided share a loadout of some of my carry before the review comes out.

Put together your own mini survival candle in 6 easy steps, using common household item.
Loadout: DT Event
I had the great privilege of joining one of my clients (and good friends) during their 72 hour worship event held this weekend. Here’s what I threw together before heading out to the already well drenched event tent!

I like to share my EDC from time to time as it’s often an interesting reflection on how things have changed…
Loadout: Woodland Exploration
Here’s a join loadout from when Mini Config and I visited “High Woods” for some outdoor therapy, including shelter building and some “hang time”!
Pack Essentials: Editor’s EDC
Here are some of the items that I carry daily in my pack or pockets.

A field review of a new pack that took a beating and kept on carrying.
Review: PackLite Max Phone Charger
It’s rare to come across such a simple, effective and world changing product, but LuminAID have created just that.
