Loadout: Fishing & Hiking Pack
Here’s a great loadout that Yong uses as his general purpose base setup for hiking, fishing and other activities.

Inside the Hill People Gear Connor pack, attached to the laser-cut PALS grid is a Kifaru 500D Organizer that has:
The rest:
- Small REI stuff sack with trowel and toilet paper
- Nike windbreaker
- LifeStraw
- 20oz Hydroflask
- Maxpedition Janus pouch with personal survival kit
- Best Made Co enamel mug
- Kifaru Lock and Load #11 pouch holds:

The chest pack (Hill People Gear Heavy Recon with a Blue Force Gear Ten Speed Triple 308 Mag Pouch on the front) holds:
- Victorinox Soldier’s Knife
- Suunto MC-2G Compass
- Bandana
- Mora Companion
- Small fire starting kit
- Earplugs
- Tissues
- Small first aid kit
- ThorFire TG06 flashlight
This is my general purpose base setup for hiking, fishing, etc. I’ll add/sub things as needed, but for the most part this is what’s always with me. California weather means mostly mild days with maybe some slightly chilly nights, but nothing extreme.
There are two parts to my setup, the backpack, and the chest pack. Both are made by Hill People Gear, quality, rock solid gear that can take a beating and is very comfortable to wear. The pack is the Connor Pack. The mesh pockets (meant to be sock drying pockets) are sized large enough to hold a bicycle size water bottle (or 20 oz. Hydroflask).
