Pack Essential: Battalion 12hr Backpack

Chris Elkins of MDA shares the latest Configeer’s item of the month from the Recycled Fire Fighter.

Configeer Chris: This 12 hour pack is perfect for the daily commute or a short trips out, be it around town or out on a mini adventure. Small enough to be compact but large enough to hold all possible essentials.

This pack is my daily work carry. It has been perfect for carrying my daily items, ranging from paperwork to a laptop with storage in the form of 2 mesh pockets perfect for pens, torch, and multiple smaller items. It is also my go do ‘daily adventure’ pack, great for a short trip out to the woods when you simply need to carry the basics.

The front pocket has 2 dividers, large enough to hold a mobile phone, keeping items secure on the go. Velcro panel enables the user to show off their favourite patches!

Made from mil spec Cordura, its tough enough for most of what you would put this pack through. The blaze orange interior lining is a nice addition to the design, and useful for when times may go wrong.

Whilst I love this pack, the only area I feel could do with some work are the straps. There are times where they could do with a little additional padding, but on the whole, do a great job. The optional interior frame is great but I do feel it should come with one.

This is a perfect EDC pack for multiple occasions. Very reasonably priced and suitable for a range of occasions. Also supports a great cause and made by a great brand.
