Loadout: Daily Commute

Here’s what Jon C., Foreign Service Officer, uses as his daily commute to work, but also as a “personal item” bag for under an airline seat.

I’ve been using public transportation for my commute lately. The weather forecast is always a roll of the dice, so the rain jacket stays stuffed in the bottom of the pack. Since the Evade is also my under-the-seat bag for air travel, the earplugs, bandages and pain-reliever are always in their compartments in the admin organizer; two options are available when you purchase the pack.

There is plenty of space for passports and boarding passes, sunglasses and a smartphone in the soft-lined stash pocket.

I cannot enter any facility in the city without either a temperature check and sanitizing, or at least passing several sanitizing stations, so I don’t carry my own at the moment.

Masks are mandatory when out in public, but it’s possible to get some distance before realizing you left it behind, so a spare one stays in the organizer as well.

The only changes I can predict are adding a handheld light and a more robust boo boo kit.
