The Maui Minimalist really is a perfect bag, but Javran makes much more than just camera bags. Among his innovative creations you can also find some classics, like the Range Finder (RF) strap, hand-made in his shop in the US of course. Made of nylon webbing, with Buick automobile leather fittings and custom polished split rings it’s really nice, soft and just looks good on cameras like the Fuji-X, which blends modern technology with an old school classic look. I’ve got it installed on my Fuji X30 and X100T cameras, and I couldn’t be happier.
The Javran RF strap – just a classic!
Of course it can be customized to your own needs. I asked mine to go without leather ring protectors as I really like the simple look of bare split rings on my camera. However there is one detail, which (for me) makes it better than any other competition – the length! When extended, it is long enough for cross-chest carry and also over my heavy winter clothes. And that’s something that was not possible with my previous classic straps… so, you makers, if you hear me – a strap like this is not just fashion accessory! A Fuji, or even a Leica, can be perfectly used in many scenarios (not just street photography in Manhattan) so a strap should also be fully suitable for outdoor use, incl. conditions requiring heavier/thicker clothes. And Javran got it right!
