This is exactly what I pack in/on my E&E for a full day trip into the mountains. My camera was on my neck (weathersealed, so no worry), hiking poles in my hands. Other than that, everything was in/on this tiny looking Kifaru… well, it’s MUCH more packable than I initially thought due to the serious amount of PALS webbing everywhere on it. It’s not obviously visible but I removed fastex buckles on the compression straps and exchanged them with G-Hooks making it much lighter, WAY less bulky and it just looks much cleaner. I noticed this trick on Mel Terkla’s personal E&E (Mel is the Kifaru guy) and adapted mine immediately! Highly recommended.

Pack:

  • Kifaru E&E pack with X-Ray straps and very special patch
  • GPP2 pouch from TAD
  • Small carabiner (for gloves when in frequent use or wet)
  • 2x Grimloc on sided of the pack to hold the water bottles
