With a social media following of over 44k, Jake’s company, that makes some serious quality “2nd Career Gear”, has definitely caught our attention. The Recycled Firefighter gear is amazing. I can highly recommend checking it out in the link below. Soon we’ll be releasing our review one of their products, but for now, here’s a little insight into his pack configuration.

1. What is your current go-to pack?

Currently I’m using the GORUCK GR1.

2. What items can always be found in your pack?

3. Can you tell us a little about what you do?

I’m the owner/designer/maker behind RecycledFirefighter.com. Typically my day revolves around sewing, family, and outdoors activities.

4. What is the passion that drives the brand?

I have an extreme appreciation for simple and well made items that have amazing back stories. I’ve settled on repurposing Firehose as my main usable material because it is both extremely durable and comes with an amazing fire service history.

5. How would you describe your level of pack organisation? (Chaotic, Casual, Pack Jedi, Scientific)

Pack Jedi* for sure. I’ve got a deep seated addiction to backpacks so my large collection allows me to have several packs organized for various functions at any given time. I have dedicated packs for backpacking, gun range, bug out, every day carry, and vacationing.

*Pack Jedi – Some disorder, but the precise location of every item is known to you. Maximum flexibility.
