The Rucker
GORUCK started with their original “One ruck to rule them all”, taken a gentle sledgehammer to it, and created a ruckers dream.
The one question that stood out about this ruck, is how is it different to the GR1? The GR1 is the core of the GORUCK brand, alongside the Challenges. They were both literally built for each other, and so to present a ‘revised’ ruck that is built for rucking is a big deal for them.
While the rucking plate insert and hydration focus is great, I personally think the best change is the massive cut back in unnecessary weight. No internal webbing, no padding or separate sheet of Cordura for the laptop insert, this new offering has definitely gone on a diet. This would indeed make it a ruckers dream, as the cutting back of all unnecessarily weight would be a delight for any weighted challenge.
GORUCK have even created a page that breaks down the differences between the GR1 and the Rucker, and this is definitely the best place to start if you’re thinking of purchasing. With a $100 cheaper price, two subtle webbing colour options and two sizes, this is definitely a great looking ruck.
