Introducing the PDW SHADO 24L Pack

Prometheus Design Werx has launched the next generation of S.H.A.D.O. Packs, but there’s one important change that will enable this pack to overshadow the competition…

Like many of us, I’ve been following the work and design of Patrick Ma for a number of years now, I’ve even had the privilege to chat to him a number of times. For those who don’t know him, I would describe Patrick as the Steve Jobs of nylon soft-goods. Not only does he have an unwavering attention to detail, but he’s not afraid to think ahead of the time people are currently living in.

With the fantastic PDW team, Patrick has been unleashing his creativity into the world. When the first generation of S.H.A.D.O. packs were released, something new and unique in the market was born – a true hybrid between military and outdoor backpack styles. There were some that perhaps didn’t appreciate this leap from the norm at first, but I, and so many others, have been using and enjoying the 28L S.H.A.D.O. packs till this day.

So what’s so exciting about this next generation?

The significant change with this 24L Pack is that instead of starting with an amazing concept and then shaving off features or cutting corners in terms of materials, they’ve found a manufacturing partner that can help them fully realise and execute their ideas. This new ‘adventure class pack’ has all the features and accessories they wanted, all in one package.

Just like the good old days of Apple’s new product releases, PDW have reimagined this pack from the ground up, bundled in all the features AND reduced the price from their previous model. Not only that but they’ve clearly paid special attention to the feedback of many, many users and addressed all the issues that were voiced by fans or critics alike. It takes a special kind of company to do that.

This release should have the competition quaking in their boots. Well done PDW, I can’t wait to get my hands on one!
