Adventurer, outdoorsman, mountaineer, sailor and gear enthusiast from Poland. It all started for Piotr when he was 10 and went to the high mountains with his father. Now he’s transferring his experiences and knowledge to the younger generation, together with his wife. His perfect vacation is not an all-inclusive hotel but a nothing-inclusive mountain shelter.
Piotr shares it all on Pack Config and also outdoor and gear related forums (as PiterM). He’s a dedicated hiker, who constantly looks for his Holy Grail Pack, so he tests new stuff each season. His favorite pack & gear brands are Prometheus Design Werx, Mystery Ranch, Hill People Gear, Kifaru, Arcteryx, Vargo and more. He also has a considerable knowledge about edged tools (knives and axes), including cutting tools from Chris Reeve, Strider, Spyderco, Helle, Gransfors Bruks, Roselli and other brands.

Spyderco Native Magnacut – plain vs serrated
The Native Lightweight has been around for more than a quarter of a century now, but which one would be a better fit for your needs?
Review: MKM Normar – Modern Crossover Bush Tool
This selection of gear has some firm favourites, plus new additions from last year’s carry.
TRC Classic Freedom – Classic with class
It’s not a regular review but rather a tale of a knife.
Review: Wotancraft Scout
Piotr Ma breaks down this aesthetical marvel of a bag. But does it offer equally good functionality?
Sebenza MagnaCut – magic just happened!
Piotr: MagnaCut is a great steel for regular use, it shines as EDC, cuts aggressively, and stays sharp for many weeks of really intense EDC use.
Review: FS Technical Woobie
Read what Piotr thought of this new Technical variant of the First Spear Woobie and if it measures up to the original and how it performs in the wild.
Review: D-Route by Mystery Ranch
Piotr: I try to keep my gear as universal and multi-mission as possible. But sometimes you just can’t beat the performance of a specialised solution.
Winter Day Hike
Piotr: This is my typical D-Route loadout for a winter day-hike in easy terrain – so just snowshoeing, no climbing.
Review: Terrain 365 STS-AT
Piotr Ma shares why Terravantium might be the best companion for your next waterborne adventure.
